The newest addition to Luxembourg’s subject list – digital sciences – is teaching secondary students the essential skills needed to evolve with the digital world.
The pilot phase, beginning in 2021, brings digital sciences into 18 of the nation’s high schools, expanding to all of them by 2025.
The subject has six pillars: communication with machines & between machines; the world wide web & its challenges; computer data & its management; games, analog & digital; robots & programming; & AI. With unprecedented ecological & societal challenges facing all of us, the digital sciences equip the next generation of world citizens with the tools to forge solutions. To combat the inequities surrounding access to digital, the digital science course will be offered in both the classical & technical educational paths, with materials available in German, French & English.
