“Girls, Deploy Your Talents!” (GDYT!) is taking on the gender gap in STEM. It focuses on diminishing gender bias & strengthening the link between schools, youth & industry. GDYT! activities fall under one of three categories: awareness raising, job shadowing & company-school cooperation.
The Ministry of State’s Department of Media, Connectivity & Digital Policy partnered with IMS Luxembourg and other ministries to bring this project to life, with the goal of drawing more young women to ICT careers & boosting Luxembourg’s digital innovation. Currently, only one in three STEM graduates and one in five ICT specialists are women.
2025 Kick-Off Event for All
In the pipeline is an informational podcast, exhibition on stereotypes & day-long internships for girls facilitated by the Maison de l’Orientation. The kick-off conference, on December 11, 2025, invites all interested individuals to Abbaye de Neumünster for an evening featuring testimonials from STEM professionals.
The event will present GDYT!’s actions, opportunities & motivations. Speakers include Elisabeth John, Coordinator of the Scienteens Lab at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine, University of Luxemburg, and Kadijatou Gracet SALL, Senior Solution Engineer at Devoteam.
Importantly, the conference will take time to inform teachers in attendance about the upcoming mini internships so that they can select potential student participants.
