30 May 2016 saw the inauguration of the 2016 eHandwierk Days at the Chambre des Métiers (Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts), in the presence of Mr Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister and Minister of Communications and the Media, who had some encouraging and stimulating words to say in support of businesses in their digital approach.
“Focusing on customer/production interfaces, considering consumers in their capacity as prosumers, communicating and interconnecting, coming up with integrated concepts for the digital environment, working together, and also knowing when to make a stand to boost the flexibility and creativity inherent in craft trades” were the key messages put across by Christoph Krause of the ‘Kompentenzzentrum Digitales Handwerk WEST’ in Coblenz. His energy, his eloquent thoughts, and above all his down-to-earth approach held his audience’s attention and challenged the businesses present to make a start and reinvent themselves on the basis of the digital idea.
In his address, Mr Roland Kuhn, President of the Chambre des Métiers, referred to the importance of raising awareness and including digital matters in education, while Mr Vincent Lekens, President of the Fédération des Intégrateurs, stressed the importance of security in ensuring success in the digital world.
