2016 FTTH Conference: becoming the first to have complete fibre coverage across the country

The 13th edition of the conference FTTH (Fibre to the Home) – the world's biggest fibre-related event – took place in Luxembourg on 17 and 18 February and was attended by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. More than 3,500 industry professionals attended the two-day conference held at the Luxexpo.

In his welcoming address, Xavier Bettel noted that fibre and broadband deployment was one of the priorities on the agenda for both the Luxembourg government and the European Commission:  “Our aim is for Luxembourg to be the first to have complete coverage across the country.”

With all eyes on Luxembourg this year, the country showcased its supremacy in the fields of connectivity, infrastructure, security and innovation. The event was sponsored by partners Luxinnovation, LU-CIX and Securitymadein.lu.
