6zero1 is a new space for work, advice and training in Luxembourg, whose mission is to contribute to the creation of sustainable jobs through a web of sustainable and economically viable social enterprises.
Through a customised incubation programme, 6zero1 is the structure in Luxembourg likely to accompany social entrepreneurs throughout the process of creating and launching their social or societal activities.
Being itself a social enterprise, 6zero1 is intended to be the very first social enterprise in Luxembourg to take the form of a societal impact company (société d'impact sociétal, SIS) upon the entry into force of the draft law creating societal impact companies (parl. doc. No 6831) – hence the name of the very first SIS ("6" for short): SIS No 01 = 6zero1.
6zero1 aims to accommodate and support solely the development of social enterprises, which have the aim, in particular, of developing economically viable activities while providing support to people in fragile situations, helping to preserve the link with society, to fight against exclusion and inequality, to promote equality between men and women, to strengthen territorial cohesion, or to develop educational, cultural and creative activities.
6zero1 supports all entrepreneurs who wish to adopt the new legal form of societal impact society (SIS) by assisting them concretely in their efforts (training, funding and advice) and offering them a comfortable personal and individual workspace.
6zero1 is based in Differdange, in the 1535° – a creative hub, which is a unique entrepreneurship concept open to all creative jobs, taking thus advantage of a dynamic professional environment, ideally located near the Belgian and French borders.
6zero1 is a joint undertaking of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the Grand Duke Henri and the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa Foundation, and the Luxembourg Union for the social and solidarity economy and enjoys the financial support of the National Grande-Duchesse Charlotte Charity.
