In June 2016, Antoine Granjon and Bastian Jakobsen founded Adapti.me: a start-up offering a boutique service enabling websites to personalize content and design based on the profile of the user in real time. We caught up with the start-up’s founders.
How did the idea of creating Adapti.me come about?
Bastian and I both come from the web industry. About 18 months ago, we began working on a digital project targeting older users and after tearing our hair out trying to create an interface design suitable for all age groups, I suddenly thought to myself: ‘Why can’t users simply create their own interface themselves?’ We ended up having a long and protracted discussion about whether we could use big data to simplify and improve the digital media experience, rather than merely for marketing and publicity purposes. After talking it over, we decided to go ahead with the project and use this data to improve the user experience. We now provide a service where websites can customize content and interfaces to their user’s tastes, usage and expectations.
What achievements are you especially proud of to date?
We are particularly proud of the team we managed to put together for this project. Without the talent, creativity and motivation of our staff, we would not have succeeded in getting to the stage we are at now and earning a place on the Luxinnovation Fit4Start programme as well as access to the Lux Future Lab incubator.
Where do you go from here?
Up until now we have spent most of our time testing, trying out and creating various concepts and solutions. The next step is to secure the contracts necessary to turn our start-up into a sustainable business model.
What do you love most about Luxembourg?
We decided to set up our company in Luxembourg as we were so impressed by how accessible the start-up ecosystem and digital scene is. Just three days after we arrived in Luxembourg, we met a department official, a business angel and a venture capital investor all at the same time!
