The 3rd edition of BIM @ OAI was held on June 18, at the headquarters of the order of architects and consulting engineers (OAI).
This major event allowed the 170 industry professionals to understand the evolution of the Building Information Modeling project in Luxembourg.
The program, punctuated by round tables, was rich in exchanges. After an introduction by Jos Dell, President of the Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers, on the significant and necessary developments for the profession in order to integrate this new collaborative process into their working methods, David Determe, Representative of the OAI BIM, returned to the first work done in terms of contracts, fees or training courses specific to OAI members.
Moreno Viola, Senior Manager at the Building Technologies and Innovation Resource Center (CRTI-B), presented all the BIM training courses that will soon be available in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and made a progress report on the new working groups within the CRTI-B on the subject of BIM.
During the second part of the program, BIM managers illustrated their remarks through feedback on projects of different sizes and particularities:
- Christophe Bracquez, from the Jonas Architects office, highlighted the work carried out on one of the OAI pilot projects, namely the construction of a basic school and a relay house for the municipality of Wahl.
- Séverine Vuillemin, from the FG Architects office, for her part, put forward the project of the "Italian Quarter" public structure in Dudelange.
- Daniel Zignale from BimConsult offered a cross-check on the role and missions of each stakeholder via the project of the national company of the Luxembourg Railways, developed in Wasserbillig.
- Alexandra Dubuisson and Philipp Carnol, of Assar Architects, for their part put forward the project Chirec, a hospital of 104,000m² located in Brussels, whose studies began in 2010 and whose first patients were welcomed in December latest.
Nina Burmeister, Legal Affairs Officer in the "Media, Telecommunications and Digital Policy" Department of the Ministry of State and Project Manager for "Digital Luxembourg" concluded this meeting by opening the discussion on the issues of digitalization for the country through the highlighting of "Digital Luxembourg", a multidisciplinary governmental initiative collaborating with public, private and academic actors in order to exploit digitalization and achieve a positive digital transformation.
