Although it was formed back in 2011, the ICTluxembourg platform received a boost on 15 July 2014 when it became a genuine federation, with articles of association and a board of directors.
The associations that are considered most representative of the ICT sector in Luxembourg – namely Apsi, Fedil-ICT, EuroCloud, FDI, Association des PSF de support and ABBL – have joined forces within this new federation, to broaden their field of action and speak out with a single voice. Billed as a “monolithic counterweight to the authorities”, the federation intends to become the main point of contact of the booming digital sector for both the government and the country’s institutions.
Gérard Hoffmann (the chairman of Fedil-ICT), has been appointed as president of the Federation. He will be backed by two vice-presidents, Amal Choury (chairwoman of EuroCloud Luxembourg) and Jean Diederich (chairman of Apsi).
The main task of ICTluxembourg is to gather together all the organisations that are active in the field of digital services, ICT and media. The federation is expected to contribute towards promoting the sector both nationally and internationally, and to contribute to its development and diversification.
