LORD.LU, the website dedicated to the promotion of Luxembourgish culture in general and more particularly to literary and media culture, was launched at the Chamber of Commerce in Kirchberg.
With Lord.lu, users will now be able to access both actual content and copyright at the same time, and make purchases with a single click.
In addition to the Internet site, Lord is also available on several channels of communication, including a mobile app, a television channel with VOD, presence on the social networks, and a specialist store.
Lord is based on the regularly updated catalogue of Luxembourgish works (‘Luxemburgensia’) in digital and/or physical form. Works can be accessed by either quick or advanced search. The public will be able to readily access all types of content (books, periodicals, music, videos, etc.), purchase works online, and pay royalties. A special section is reserved for the press, allowing specific searching in Luxembourgish periodicals and the acquisition of digital editions (daily, weekly, monthly periodicals, etc.) and rights. It also provides information on news in the fields of culture, copyright and the new digital society.
Using the free app, available to download on smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android), it is now possible to buy Luxembourgish books, CDs and DVDs anywhere at any time, for next-day delivery free of charge. The ‘notification’ option keeps consumers abreast of new publications in real time, and makes it easy to import their preferred cultural diary.
Via Post tv, Lord is available live (channel 89) or subsequently as video on demand. The varied programme (literature, films, music, etc.) can also be accessed on Lord.lu. Luxembourgish authors will be invited regularly, to present and talk about their works.
