Orange Fab: incubator network comes to Luxembourg

Orange Fab, the international business accelerator programme established by the international telecoms provider with the aim of building commercial relationships between start-ups and the group’s business units, is being extended to Belgium and Luxembourg.

Enrolment is already open for the first three-month accelerator programme, which will take place from January to April 2018. Selected firms will benefit from mentoring and advice as well as participation in events such as conferences and an international demonstration day in Paris.

The programme aims to leverage Orange’s global network to help growth-oriented mature start-up companies developing innovative connection and communication products and services to expand within their home market as well as internationally through partnerships and distribution opportunities.

The extension of the Orange incubator network to the grand duchy represents the latest addition to the country’s support network for start-ups, comprising both public- and private-sector initiatives, and a step toward its ambition to become the location of choice for innovative young companies seeking to develop opportunities throughout the European market.

The Orange Fab programme is seeking firms active in Internet of Things fields, including connected objects, drones, smart cities, smart home and security solutions, smart metering, smart mobility and wearables; networking applications such as communication and connectivity services, fixed-mobile convergence, seamless wireless access and unified communications; content areas including cloud gaming, video experience and video content aggregation; and artificial intelligence and big data.

To be eligible, companies must have a minimum viable product that is already commercialised. Those accepted into the programme will receive mentoring from coaches, industry experts and investors and take part in workshops, coaching sessions and matchmaking.
