Digital technologies are revolutionising the world. The ‘Smart City’ is an urban development vision to optimise the daily management of city infrastructure through a combination of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and IoT (Internet of Things) technologies.
These solutions can be applied in a multitude of innovative ways to help local government improve their citizens’ lives – energy management, social care, health care, traffic control, education, public transport, waste management – the list of potential applications is growing every day, and many solutions are already in place around the globe.
At this conference, to take place on 24 May 2017 from 2–5 pm at the Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of the Economy in collaboration with the Media and Communications Department of the Ministry of State will host a variety of expert speakers and tech companies to showcase the possibilities of Smart City solutions. Following introductory speeches by Secretary of State Francine Closener and SYVICOL President Emile Eicher, experts from Vodafone and POST and other leading companies will present their visions of the Smart City, after which guests will be able to explore a diverse range of solutions and case studies presented by visiting tech companies. The conference will conclude with networking and drinks.
