Technoport and Paul Wurth collaborating on “InCub”

Technoport, which until now was based solely at its site in Esch-Belval, will henceforth have a branch in the City of Luxembourg. Thanks to a partnership agreement signed on 2 December 2015 with Paul Wurth, a new start-up incubator programme has been launched.

Upon signature of the agreement, the Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener, said: “The incubator programme founded by Paul Wurth and backed by the Technoport is in keeping with the government’s policy to develop an ecosystem providing the best possible conditions for the creation and the development of innovative technology projects and enterprises.”

The Paul Wurth InCub incubator initiative will provide backing to start-ups seeking the support and expertise of a major innovative company with the implementation and the development of their projects. “Fostering and creating synergies between major industrial players and start-ups, in the mid to long term, is vital in order to create an even better integrated ecosystem” said Diego De Biasio, the Managing Director of the Technoport.

The incubator will focus on backing projects in such fields as the use of environmental technologies in steel-making, the decentralised production of energy, industry 4.0, advanced logistical concepts and green and intelligent buildings.

“Whilst we are always prepared to share our technological expertise, it is vital for an industrial concern such as Paul Wurth to be open to innovative external ideas and to back promising projects” said Georges Rassel, the Chief Executive Officer of Paul Wurth.
