Yotako enables developers to develop web and mobile applications faster. How does it work? It translates design into code in a heartbeat. We caught up with Alfonso García Frey and Damien Neuberg, the directors of the start-up which was launched in spring 2016.
How did you come up with the idea of creating Yotako?
Alfonso: I came up with the idea because as part of my work I was developing a lot of apps in very short time periods. At the time I was surprised how difficult it was to integrate design when coding apps. By talking to other developers, I quickly realised that the entire sector faced this problem and that there was a lack of solutions on offer to app developers. We really wanted to provide a solution for developers so we decided to create Yotako which is a software program by developers for developers that makes life easier by translating design into code, smoothing the way for greater development of web and mobile apps.
What are you especially proud of to date?
Alfonso: I am proud of the fact that we built a great team around this project initially which allowed us to bring it to the stage it is now. The first Beta version is online now. The companies and designers who are using it already are helping us to improve it thanks to their feedback. Without the help of this community of developers, it would not have been Yotako as it is today so we would like to extend our warmest thanks to them.
What are your future plans?
Damien: Right now, we are preparing to launch the first commercial version of the software which will be available to the public from early 2017. This version will allow any developer to use Yotako to develop web and mobile apps.
We are also in the process of finalising funding sourced from investors based in different countries, meaning we will be in a position to recruit developers so that we can refine our product.
What do you love most about Luxembourg?
Alfonso & Damien: The start-up ecosystem is rapidly growing and we have realised that there is a real willingness to turn Luxembourg into a byword for the development of ICT projects. There are lots of opportunities here which is great.
What's more, the size of the country makes it the perfect destination to test a product before exporting it internationally. Luxembourg's small size also means easy access to key stakeholders in both the public and private sector who will assist you with your project.
