The new general data protection scheme which will come into force on 25 May 2018 already requires all stakeholders to comply as quickly as possible.
To help them in the task of incorporating the provisions of the general data protection regulation in their internal policy, the national commission for data protection (Commission nationale pour la protection des données – CNPD), with support from Digital Luxembourg and in conjunction with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), has developed a GDPR Compliance Support Tool.
The purpose of this GDPR Compliance Support Tool is to offer users an innovative, intuitive solution for ascertaining the level of maturity of their organisations with regard to data protection. The tool will enable users not only to manage a processing register, and all the other documents required to demonstrate their responsibility, but also to monitor the evolution of the level of maturity of their organisations. During the test phase, which lasted about three months, the tool was tested under real-life conditions in 28 volunteer companies. Their feedback has made it possible to optimise the tool and adapt it to grass-roots requirements before its official launch.
Today’s launch of the tool is in line with the Grand Duchy’s determination to digitise and simplify procedures, particularly with regard to compliance with the current and future framework of regulations. The CNPD and Digital Luxembourg invite you to discover the functions of the GDPR.
