Entrepreneurial activity in Luxembourg has increased over the past few years, with the proportion of residents engaged in new ventures rising from 7% in 2022 to 9.9% last year, according to the latest Global Entrepreneurship Monitor report from Statec. 2) Luxembourg demonstrates secure satellite communications for disaster response in Sigma test
The Sigma project, funded by the European Commission, has completed a successful trial in Luxembourg, showcasing secure satellite communications using the country's GovSat-1 satellite in a simulated flood scenario. The exercise enabled uninterrupted, encrypted links between the Luxembourg Army command in Diekirch and field units when terrestrial networks were unavailable, with communications transitioning seamlessly back to ground networks once restored…

3) OQ Technology awarded Luxembourg’s first 5G satellite concession to offer international connectivity
OQ Technology has obtained Luxembourg's first government concession for satellite-based 5G services, giving the company authorization to develop and operate international non-terrestrial networks. The initiative is intended to improve digital access in remote regions and strengthen the resilience of communications infrastructure. Minister for communications and media Elisabeth Margue says the license award is significant for the space sector both in Luxembourg and Europe. 4) Government and Adem relaunch Skills4Job programme, saying it enables most participants to find work
More than half (54%) of unemployed people who have taken part in Luxembourg's Skills4Job programme have found employment. The initiative, which was launched by the employment bureau Adem and House of Training in 2022, targets jobseekers aged over 30, offering a combination of group training and individual coaching. To date, 570 people have enrolled, with most choosing to enhance their skills. 5) Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking and European Space Agency deepen collaboration to advance 6G connectivity across Europe
The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking and the European Space Agency have signed a memorandum of intent to expand their co-operation on next-generation communication technologies.
