1) AI expected to reshape most jobs in Luxembourg but few at risk of disappearance: employment minister Mischo

Employment minister Georges Mischo says artificial intelligence will change the skill requirements for about 72% of jobs in Luxembourg, but only 6% are at risk of being directly replaced by AI. According to a study by Implement Consulting, most positions will be transformed rather than eliminated, with the country's highly skilled workforce and dominant services sector considered resilient to disruption…

2) EU Data Act takes effect, reshaping data access for consumers and businesses

The EU Data Act has come into effect, providing consumers and businesses with direct access to data generated by connected devices. The legislation is intended to boost innovation, enhance competition and promote fairer markets by making sharing and use of raw data more straightforward. Small and medium-sized companies are expected to gain from greater data availability, while new provisions are set to ease the process of switching between cloud service providers…

3) AI could boost Luxembourg’s GDP by up to $19bn by 2040: McKinsey

Luxembourg could increase its GDP by between $13bn and $19bn by 2040 through the adoption of artificial intelligence and more effective efforts to attract talent, according to a report by consulting firm McKinsey. The report's authors say annual productivity gains could be as high as 3.4% if generative AI is integrated with other technologies, citing AI-driven software modernization in banking, improved audit targeting in public administration and better marketing. A study commissioned by Google from Implement Consulting Group and published last February found that Luxembourg's GDP could receive an added boost of up to 9% over the next decade if artificial intelligence is widely adopted and employee skills are improved…

4) European Commission boosts funding for digital innovation hubs to advance AI ambitions

The European Commission has allocated additional funding to 83 European Digital Innovation Hubs, strengthening their position as centers focused on artificial intelligence. The initiative supports the EU's AI-first policy by helping small and medium-sized companies and public sector organizations adopt AI, comply with regulations and foster regional AI ecosystems. In addition, in the first amendment to the Digital Europe Work Programme 2025–27, the Commission has redirected resources to reflect shifting political priorities, notably enabling the program to contribute to the AI Gigafactories initiative to accelerate the development of advanced European AI models…

5) EU steps up AI autonomy drive with €1bn Apply AI strategy to reduce dependence on US and China

The EU has launched its Apply AI strategy, allocating €1bn from funding initiatives such as Horizon Europe and Digital Europe to strengthen domestic artificial intelligence capabilities and reduce dependence on US and Chinese technology. The aim is to achieve strategic autonomy in sectors including healthcare, defense, manufacturing, energy and automobile production, with public administrations leading the integration of AI systems.
