From the start of the 2021/2022 academic year, the range of BTS (Brevet de technicien supérieur) courses in Luxembourg will be even more diversified.
Indeed, three new BTS have recently been accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research for the period from 15 September 2021 to 14 September 2026.
Like all BTS courses, the newly accredited BTS – "Cybersecurity" offered by the Lycée Guillaume Kroll (LGK) in Esch-sur-Alzette, "Digital Content" offered by the Lycée Nic-Biever in Dudelange (LNBD), and "Legal Assistant" offered by the École de commerce et de gestion (ECG) in Luxembourg – are higher education courses with a professional objective, combining theoretical teaching and practical training in companies. The studies, which last two years in principle, are organized in modules and validated in ECTS credits. They lead to a national higher education diploma.
The study programs are developed in close collaboration between the respective high schools and the professional circles concerned.
- – The "Cybersecurity" BTS (LGK) is a training program that focuses on the areas of security concepts and security management. This technical and practical training prepares students for the implementation and management of operational cybersecurity in a professional context according to the latest developments.
- – The BTS "Digital Content" (LNBD) introduces students to the techniques and technologies of digital content production. This BTS offers broad training that covers four main areas of study: media technologies; computers and the Internet; languages, communication, and organization; economics, management, and marketing. Courses include photography, video, web design, social media, marketing, project management, and digital tools.
- – The BTS "Legal Assistant" (ECG) is an interactive training between law, communication, and administrative management. The program was developed in cooperation with the public prosecutor's office, the Luxembourg Bar Association, the Chamber of Notaries, the Chamber of Bailiffs, and the fiduciaries.
In addition to these three courses, the BTS "Commerce" of the Lycée du Nord (LN), which has been accredited since June 2020, will start next fall. This higher education program in the field of commerce, combining theoretical training at the high school and practical training in a commercial enterprise, prepares students to take on responsibilities in a commercial enterprise, in a retail business, or in a wholesale business..
Finally, the accreditation of ten BTS courses has been renewed for the period from September 15, 2021 to September 14, 2026.
