Digital Leaders in the Making: Luxembourg Tech School Revs Up for Another Year of Learning

Nearly a decade since its launch, Luxembourg Tech School (LTS) is still going strong, offering free, fun and future-focused courses in digital learning to Luxembourg’s 12-19-year-olds.

With the next academic year beginning in September, students have until June 26, 2025, to register. The extracurricular time commitment? One action-packed 1.5-hour session per week. No prior experience is required, just an interest in exploring the world of digital technologies.

Curriculum rooted in the real world

LTS offers two distinct learning tracks based on age, both designed to inspire creativity and build foundational tech skills through real-world projects.

Level Go gives 12–14-year-olds the chance to learn coding basics and begin to understand the inner workings of digital technology. It consists of three relevant, evolving modules:

  • Creative Coding: Creating digital & animated graphics, web development, creative expression & coding basics
  • Digital Thinking: Talking to machines & computers; logical thinking; AI intro; & digital knowledge, skills & values
  • Interaction Design: Machine-human interaction, microcomputers, simple robots, space & free exploration

Level One, also comprised of three modules, gears itself toward 15–19-year-olds:

  • GameDev: Video game design & building
  • AI Everywhere: Coding in Python, AI building & working with data
  • Fintech: Financial technologies & building fintech applications

An opportunity for all

Because the English language dominates today’s technology sector, both options are offered in English, while Level G0 is also available in German/Luxembourgish.

Since the beginning, LTS has employed a hands-on, project-based approach that keeps students engaged and actively learning by doing.

LTS wants to give all interested students the opportunity to benefit from the experience, so it requires no payment, prerequisites or equipment. Any student without a computer will be provided one for the entire year.

Beyond providing individual enrichment and enjoyment, LTS is addressing a national priority: preparing the next generation of tech professionals, or as the school prefers to call them, digital leaders.
