With simple demonstrations and easy-to-understand experimental hardware configurations, SAFER project’s primary objective is to demonstrate that 5G radiation is safe.
In two dedicated workshops, the project illustrated how 5G base stations, in comparison to 4G base stations, reduce the amount of electromagnetic radiation emitted in the environment. As such, some of the misunderstandings regarding the technology behind active antenna systems are unveiled. The project also seeks to increase the acceptance of 5G technology by showcasing the benefits of 5G from a scientific perspective and by introducing the general public to new network concepts, such as small cells and mm Waves.
