Standards analysis in the ICT sector: develop your activity using standards

ILNAS has published a new version of its standards analysis in the information and communication technologies sector (ANS TIC). The document, at the origin of a reinforcement of technical standardization activities in this sector in the Grand Duchy, provides an overview of the most relevant developments in standards in Europe and internationally.

The ILNAS report is an invitation to all the national stakeholders to discover standardisation activities which will guide the future of the sector so that they can make the most of the opportunities available in the Grand Duchy in order to take an active part in standardisation and develop their competitiveness.

ILNAS has updated its ANS TIC regularly since the first edition in 2012, supplying the national stakeholders with information that is increasingly fine-tuned and relevant. This seventh edition of the report focuses on the new compartmentalisation of the ICT sector that is intended to cover the main areas of interest of the market in the Grand Duchy. A targeted standards watch is in place for each of the thirteen ‘sub-sectors’ defined in the report (including Cloud Computing, the Internet of Things, and Big Data) in order to identify the technical standardisation committees which will guide future technological and organisational developments in these fields, and detailed information sheets enable the national stakeholders to keep abreast of the work of these technical committees and determine those which are most relevant to their activities.

Beyond its informative role, this document also offers an overview of the normative activities being carried out in the Grand Duchy for the ICT sector, particularly in terms of education in standardisation, and emphasises the opportunities made available to the market to take advantage of this field in their development strategy. It should not be forgotten that every national economic stakeholder may join the technical standardisation committees free of charge, so as to be able to take an active part in the creation of future international and European standards.

As part of the national policy for standardisation in the ICT field, ILNAS and ANEC G.I.E. can be contacted by any of the Grand Duchy’s stakeholders in the sector; they will provide enquirers with support in their development of standards. They are also willing to visit companies and give a more detailed presentation of the results of the ANS TIC and the standards being developed in the sub-sectors of interest to the individual companies.

If you have any questions or requests with regard to standardisation in the ICT sector, please e-mail anec@ilnas.etat.lu or complete a declaration of interest so that ANEC G.I.E. can contact you quickly.
